CADET OF THE YEAR, CEDRIC HERBERT, JR.

photo (2)

Cedric Herbert has been in the ROTC for 3 years.  In his senior year, he received a trophy for Cadet of the year.  He also received several other trophies in his senior year for his outstanding performance in ROTC.   Cedric has always desired the “army” life just like his grandfather who served for 20+ years until he was hurt and received a Purple Heart.  His grandmother, Mary, said Cedric could have started in any rank he chose but he selected Infantry Combat, like his grandfather did.

While in high school, Cedric would get up for school at 5am sharp EVERY morning even though school didn’t start until 8:45am.  Not typical at all for most high school kids but very typical for this future army man. He graduated from high school on June 5, 2013 and will go for basic training on September 2013 at Fort Benning, Georgia to begin his career in the army.  CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES CEDRIC HERBERT, JR.
