Billy Paul
Paul Williams (81) (12/1/1934 – 4/24/2016), known professionally as Billy Paul, was a Grammy Award-winning American soul singer, known for his 1972 #1 single, “Me and Mrs. Jones”, as well as the 1973 album and single ” War of the Gods” which blends his more conventional pop, soul, and funk styles with electronic and psychedelic influences. He was one of the many artists associated with the Philadelphia soul sound created by Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff and Thom Bell. Paul was identified by his diverse vocal style which ranged from mellow and soulful to low and raspy. Questlove of the Roots equated Paul to Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, calling him “one of the criminally unmentioned proprietors of socially conscious post-revolution ’60s’ civil rights music.”

Hello Cousin Mary,
I wanted to take a moment and share my story: Back in October 2015, I decided to step away from my corporate job after 8 years of service as a Branch Manager. After no longer feeling fulfilled I decided to trust the masters plan, so I stepped out on faith. Only to see that God’s promise is always true, he said he would never leave you, nor forsake you, but he will supply your needs! So with that I started my new journey. I’m now building my own financial services business, educating families on the importance of making and saving money, which I love so much. Also my most prized possession is my new book called Keep Calm It’s Simply Your Journey released early this year in April 2016. I’m so excited to be a part of such a great family Wilson, Herbert, and Lake Family. I love you all and continue to be awesome!
Love, Retha Louis
Great Granddaughter of Willie Mae Jeter
Granddaughter of Eartha Lee
Daughter of Melvin Lee
Niece of Marquita Lee
Congratulations Retha, Continued Blessings!

NEWS SUBMITTED FOR DARA E. HERBERT, PHILADELPHIA, PA CHAPTER OF THE WLH FAMILY REUNION CIRCLE
Aug 28
Dara E. Herbert celebrated her 25th Birthday Party at her home on January 16, 2016. She did a fantastic job in the planning of the Event- everything was great! The party was for her peers only, her parents and other adults were not invited and had to leave before the party actually started “rocking.” Dara had a candle lit outdoor heated tent put up with high tables & chairs to add to the ambience for her guests. Shown above is a beautiful photo of Dara and a gorgeous table scape and her Birthday Cake which was made in the shape of a suit case and was mouth-watering delicious I might add! The suit case is a symbol of her interest in travel. Over the past 2 years, Dara has traveled to Punta Cana, New Orleans, LA, Tuskegee, Alabama, Jamaica, Dallas, TX, and cities around the Philadelphia metropolitan area and she has plans for many more destinations. Dara works with children in the School District of Philadelphia and is working on her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, which she expects to be complete early next year.
Submitted by Mary A. Herbert for Granddaughter, Dara.
Life is a Gift. Never forget to enjoy and bask in every moment you are in~~unknown
