
Kayla Marie Lake of Taylors SC attended Claflin University Orangeburg SC this past school year. She is a retuning senior this fall. This summer she worked with the City Of Greenville Summer Camp Program.
Zachary Lake attended Eastside High School this past year. Zachary made the AB Honor Roll and received awards in football and wrestling.
This summer he attended Tuskegee University AgriTrek, SciTrek Program. Scholars in this program completed research in the following areas: Agricultural, Environmental, Natural and Advanced Material Sciences. While there Zachary received the following awards: 1st place in the Engineering section of the 2010 AgriTrek/SciTrek Poster Symposium- This project was a group project where three scholars in the engineering program refurbished a playground in rural Tuskegee. Their work included design and assembly of all equipment that was placed in the playground area. Zachary also received the Booker T. Washington Leadership Award. This award was based on scholar leadership ability during the program. 4 scholars were selected for leadership awards out of the 32 scholars in the program. Zachary was selected for this award for going above and beyond what was expected of a leader. He also served as the Master of Ceremony at the closing program.
Zachary was a participant on the Banquet Program at our 42nd Annual WLH Family Reunion this year.

Ralph (Cubby) Herbert, Jr. -reports that his daughter, Amy Elizabeth Herbert will soon be a mother. She is expecting in February and is looking forward to the Blessed Event. Son- Aaron Herbert. is doing well – living in his own apartment and has his own car. He is continuing his education in Virginia. And son, Andrew Herbert is still enrolled at Tidewater Community College. He is thinking about the possibility of joining the U.S. Navy next year. Proud father, Ralph, Jr. is happy to still be working and is enjoying life.

PATRICIA HAWKINS AND HER FATHER MORRIS HALEY – 
“Photos above and to the left are of my brother, James, sister, Robin and me and my mother Patricia celebrating her retirement on Sunday July 4th, 2010 at her house in Delaware. The celebration included my grand father and most of my mother’s grand children (the children of Me, Robin and James) who are also included. Note that five of her grandchildren were not able to attend. My mother has 15 grand children total.”
Jaionne reports that their son, Justin Haley is in his 4th consecutive year as a college prep-student at Temple Upward Bound Program. He is a talented self taught musician and is taking voice lessons. Justin plays and owns the Drums and Guitar. He writes and performs poetry/ Spoken Word and is known by many as “The Just One” Poet and also completed an internship at KYW Broadcasting Station and the graduation ceremony was held in the Grand Marbled Lobby of the 


Jocelyn Haley turned 16 on September 27, 2010.
Jocelyn had her first performance at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts in the Fall of 2009 and it was a stellar success. Her skill and ability has grown tremendously since she started her new school last year. During this past summer she had her first staring roll both acting and signing in a musical play called the 12th Day which addressed the issues of Troubled Teen Obesity.



Today, September 14, 2010, Melissa Haley will be moved into her Dorm for her start in College life at Drexel University to major in a Degree in Fashion Design. She has won several awards this year including $1000 for her Art and Scholastic Achievements. Melissa has excelled in music, Art and in her academics and graduated in he top 3% of her class at Girls High. She is on a full four year full scholarship after graduating High School with High Honors. We are very proud of her to say the least.
