On July 22nd Devin and Jaionne Haley Celebrated 22 years of Marriage.

We spent a quiet night out enjoying  dinner and a movie away from our four lovely children.

Also, Jaionne celebrated her Birthday on July 30th with Granddaddy Morris Haley in Delaware.

Mignon reports, “We are truly blessed to be celebrating our 57th Wedding Anniversary on the 19th of October, 2010.

Raymond will be presenting his exhibition of photographs in Atlanta, GA at the Auburn Research Library on January 6th through of February 27th, 2011. The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American History and Culture is a Diaspora of a gathering of ideas on African Americans and their history.”

Devin and Jaionne Haley Celebrated 21 years of togetherness July 22nd 2010

Devin and Jaionne Haley celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary in July. Devin reported they had a wonderful day –  he sent his wife two dozen red roses to her job and they spent the day together with dinner and a movie. He said that their children, Michaiah, Melissa, Justin and Jocelyn were sooo happy to see them go out and enjoy themselves on their special occasion that they each chipped in and gave them money.   LOL . . .

Jaionne reports that their son, Justin Haley is in his 4th consecutive year as a college prep-student at Temple Upward Bound Program. He is a talented self taught musician and is taking voice lessons. Justin plays and owns the Drums and Guitar. He writes and performs poetry/ Spoken Word and is known by many as “The Just One” Poet and also completed an internship at KYW Broadcasting Station and the graduation ceremony was held in the Grand Marbled Lobby of the Franklin Institute Museum where he received an award for his accomplishments and participation. Michaiah Serena Haley is doing well in college completed her freshman year at DeVry University in Downtown Philadelphia and will transfer to Waynesburg University in upstate Pennsylvania studying Forensics. (Photo of Michaiah to be added)

Darryl and Lavette’s granddaughter, Janiyah Fitts, Kazmier’s daughter, started Kindergarten this fall. She attends Emlen School. Janiyah had a very good summer visiting Sesame Place and other outings and spent a lot of quality time with her great-grandmother. Their daughter, Kazmier is pleased that she is steadily working-has a full time job. The couple’s son, Darryl, Jr. is still working with his dad, “Darryl the Plumber.” Darryl Fitts, Sr. was a participant in the 42nd Annual Wilson, Lake and Herbert Family Reunion Banquet this year. Lavette and Darryl are proud to say they celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary on August 17th.

Mary & Fletcher Herbert celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 29, 2009.
The couple was honored by their wonderful children: Darryl & Susie, Michael & Terri and Christopher & Denise and their grandchildren: Chris, Jr., Mike, Jr., Dara, Denzel, DevynMary, Kyra, Stephen and Stephanie with a Banquet at Temptations.

Fletcher and Mary were totally surprised not only for the event, but to see their busy, in-demand pastor, Pastor Alyn E. Waller of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church there to bless the food and hobnob a bit, and to see their granddaughter, Dara, back so soon from college, Tuskegee University in Alabama, and to see all of their friends and family at the event from near and far.

“We are so grateful to God for everything. The affair was positively delightful! It couldn’t have been better!”

DARRYL & LAVETTE FITTS

Lavette proudly reports that she and her husband Darryl celebrated 19 years of marriage on August 17th. They are looking forward to moving back into their newly renovated home by the end of September. Their home was damaged from a fire that occurred in April of this year-fortunately no one was hurt. Their daughter, Kazmir is enrolled at Lincoln Technical School and will begin classes in October to study Nursing.
